antiquus postremo

'antiquus postremo' is latin for "ancient future". ancient-future is a term used by the so-called "postmodern church" or emerging church to envision what the future of the church might look like if we returned to modeling the early church as described in the book of acts. anyway, ancient future for this blog just means that I'm writing about what's happening right now in my life, kind of like saying "yesterday's tomorrow".

God is moving in my life to:

  • Heal my left knee (it's been bothering me for almost a year, doctor said it was probably inflamed tendon or ligament from the right knee being stronger than the left)
  • Improve my existing relationships with family and friends
  • Make new friends
  • Interact more with non-Christians and people who are different from me
  • Break my own molds and masks that have kept me from growing

God is moving in my heart so I desire to:

  • Get married sooner rather than later (that'll be an adventure!)
  • Go to graduate school in the near future, probably seminary, possibly as early as August '07
  • Denounce disappointment (especially from my experience this summer in Texas, which, while being an overall very good experience, was hard to swallow because of the hopes I had that didn't happen)
  • Be open and vulnerable with people more, rather than being withdrawn or closed off
